Eastcompeace Leads "Greater Bay Area Low-Altitude FlightGuard" Project to Top 8 in Global Premier Competition**

On March 3, 2025, at the "Open Gateway Global Application Scenario Design and Development Competition" co-hosted by GSMA and China Unicom, the "Drone Safety Management Solution (Greater Bay Area FlightGuard)" project, spearheaded by Eastcompeace and China Unicom Global, in collaboration with China Unicom Huasheng, Guangdong and Hubei branches of China Unicom, CSL, Yunhuan Network, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Sun Yat-sen University, and other leading institutions, secured a spot in the top 8 at the 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, earning the competition’s "Merit Award. This achievement underscores the global competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in the field of low-altitude airspace security governance.

The "Open Gateway" competition, centered on advancing open network capabilities, aims to build a platform for precise alignment between technological innovation and market demands. By soliciting global innovative solutions and fostering collaboration between supply and demand teams to develop product prototypes, the event accelerates the industrialization of the Open Gateway initiative. This year’s competition attracted 140 top-tier teams from 23 countries, reflecting its intense global rivalry.

With the rapid growth of the low-altitude economy in the Greater Bay Area—driven by surging demand for drone logistics, cross-border collaboration, and related applications—safety management challenges have emerged as a critical bottleneck. The "FlightGuard" project addresses these pain points with a systematic solution. Leveraging secure connectivity technology, it resolves the issue of unauthorized flights ("black flights") in the region, establishing an end-to-end security ecosystem for low-altitude operations.

The success of FlightGuard hinges on synergistic partnerships: China Unicom contributed "Open Gateway" APIs, 5G private networks, and edge computing capabilities; CSL facilitated overseas testing resources; HKUST(GZ) optimized AI algorithms; Sun Yat-sen University focused on cross-border policy compliance; and Yunhuan Network integrated drone technologies. This "industry-academia-application" collaborative model sets a benchmark for integrating low-altitude economy supply chains.

Moving forward, Eastcompeace plans to deepen global partnerships, promote the internationalization of low-altitude safety standards, and expand the application of "FlightGuard" to more regions, contributing to a "global community for shared low-altitude airspace governance."
